Quota sheets and calculations

Starting quotas, course handicaps, daily adjustments, no-play results and checks before issuing the next quota sheet.

Reading a quota sheet

Quota sheets group players by flight and show the player’s handicap index and round information, including course handicap, quota, Stableford points and delta. Quota is the target; delta measures how far the player finished above or below it.

The quota view reads saved player configuration and results. Published results control which Stableford point totals appear in the public quota view. A blank value can mean the round has not been processed, the results are not published, or player setup is incomplete; it is not automatically a zero.

Starting quota and course handicap

During player configuration, course handicap is calculated from the player’s configured handicap index and the rating, slope and par of the assigned tees for that round.

Course handicap = handicap index × (slope ÷ 113) + (course rating − par), rounded to the nearest whole number using half-up rounding.

Starting quota = 54 − course handicap. Example: a course handicap of 24 gives a starting quota of 30. Different courses or tees can produce different course handicaps, so the next day uses that day’s course handicap.

Next-round quota calculation

For a played day, daily delta = Stableford points − that day’s saved quota. Positive delta means the player exceeded quota; negative delta means the player fell short.

Next quota = 54 − next round’s course handicap + (daily delta ÷ 2). The saved quota is truncated toward zero to four decimal places, not rounded to a whole number.

Example: today’s quota is 30 and the player scores 36, so delta is +6. If tomorrow’s course handicap is 20, tomorrow’s quota is 54 − 20 + 3 = 37.

Example: today’s quota is 30 and the player scores 26, so delta is −4. With tomorrow’s course handicap of 20, the next quota is 54 − 20 − 2 = 32.

This uses the next course’s starting quota plus half the most recent played day’s delta. It does not simply add half the delta to yesterday’s quota. Fractional Stableford points are retained.

Zero points, NS and missed days

Zero points and the markers NS, NS --, -, and -- are treated as no play. They receive no daily rank or competitive delta and make the player ineligible for overall awards, which require positive points every round.

For the next quota, ignore no-play days and use the delta from the latest earlier day with positive points. Consecutive missed days continue to use that last played performance.

Example: the last played day had quota 30 and points 36, giving delta +6. After a missed day, a next-round course handicap of 20 still produces quota 37. Do not calculate a −30 delta from the zero-point day.

If the player has no earlier played day, there is no performance adjustment: next quota = 54 − next course handicap. Missing the quota for the last played day blocks calculation and must be corrected.

Before issuing the next quota sheet

Confirm the player’s configured handicap index, flight, assigned tees and course handicap for the next round. Upload the current round’s complete results and resolve any reported errors.

Review current points and quotas, then check the next round’s saved quota values before printing or distributing the quota sheet. The next configured round is selected by date and round number, not by whether its database ID is larger. The final round has no next-quota update.

Printing or viewing a saved quota sheet is not a substitute for applying corrected results. Check that the sheet reflects the saved values you intend to issue.

Correcting an earlier day after quotas were issued

Upload the corrected spreadsheet and review the difference preview first. It leaves existing payouts and quotas unchanged until Apply is used. Inspect the reported next-round quota changes and potential impacts on later rounds.

Applying the earlier correction can update its next-round quotas, but does not automatically reprocess all later results. Review affected later rounds in play order. Compare any already-issued quota sheet with the corrected saved values and resolve differences before issuing a replacement.

If money has already been paid, use the payout differences to reconcile those payments as well. A corrected quota can affect daily ranking, cumulative overall performance and awards in later processed rounds.
